Follow these instructions to properly release and renew your IP address:
1. On the lower left-hand side of your desktop, click "START."
2. In the menu, select "RUN."

3. In the field provided, type: cmd and click "OK."

4. A black DOS prompt screen should appear. In the immediate spot where the cursor has taken you, type ipconfig /release, and press the "ENTER" key.

5. You should receive a message confirming that the IP address was released successfully.
6. Now, in the immediate space provided, type ipconfig /renew and hit "ENTER" again. You should then have your IP address renewed as shown below:

7. If your IP address does not return, and you receive an error, skip to step #10.
8. Now, type exit and press "ENTER." You should now be back at your desktop.

9. Now test your connection by clicking here. If the Cisco Home Page loads, then you have successfully repaired the connection (page may vary from image below).
10. If the page does not load:
